ArvinMeritor’s Emissions Technologies Team Receives Ford Motor Company Gold Award

ArvinMeritor, Inc.’s Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) business group announced that its Emissions Technologies team based in Almussafes, Spain, received a Ford Motor Co. Gold Award for exemplary performance in 2005. As part of Ford’s prestigious World Excellence award supplier series, the Gold Award recognizes outstanding performance in the areas of cost, quality and delivery.

During a ceremony held in Dearborn, Mich., U.S., Richard Parry-Jones, Ford group vice president of Global Product Development and chief technology officer, indicated that World Excellence award recipients are part of an elite group within the global automotive community.

As a Customer Value Center (CVC), ArvinMeritor’s Almussafes facility — which employs a core team of 14 people — is line-sequenced to the production level of Ford’s vehicle operations in Valencia, Spain. The CVC supplies a daily average of 1,050 cold-end exhaust systems for the automaker’s popular Ford Fiesta model.

“We’re proud of the hard-working individuals at Almussafes, who strive each day to meet our customer’s goals for timely delivery with zero quality concerns,” said Michael Bleidt, vice president and general manager of LVS Emissions Technologies for ArvinMeritor.

ArvinMeritor’s LVS business group posted more than $4.8 billion in sales during fiscal year 2005, and employs more than 15,000 people at 73 facilities in 23 countries. LVS — a market leader in the product categories it serves — supplies integrated systems and modules to the world’s leading passenger car and light truck OEMs. With advanced technology and systems design expertise in apertures, undercarriage, wheel and emissions control, LVS combines high-quality components into cost-effective, performance-based solutions for virtually every car and light truck on the road today.
