Strategic Alliance Provides Global Support for ALPR/ANPR Users

Zamir Recognition Systems (Jerusalem, Israel – http://www.zamir.com/), a worldwide supplier of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) hardware and software, and INEX Technologies (Knoxville, TN – http://www.inextek.com/), a provider of ALPR technology to a broad range of markets, have announced the unification of the two companies. The new entity will be known as INEX/ZAMIR and will continue to operate from headquarters in both Israel and the United States.

Seth Jacobsen, CEO of Zamir Recognition Systems, says, “INEX has been able to gain entry into a number of world markets which were not readily accessible to us in the past, and we look forward to continued success with the new venture.”

The combined companies will continue to manufacture, support and market the well-received InSignia4 family of products to the security, toll road, parking, ITS, police and government markets through their network of authorized resellers, dealers, VARs and system integrators. In the past year alone, the InSignia4 family of technology has been successfully implemented on toll road projects in the states of Florida and Illinois as well as in Australia and Canada. Other recent projects of note employing the InSignia4 line are airport parking, gated access control and police vehicle mounted systems.

The InSignia4 line includes cameras designed and built for the sole purpose of capturing license plate images twenty-four hours a day without the aid of additional illumination and at speeds exceeding 100 mph, for both vehicle-mounted and stationary systems. The Virtual Vehicle Detector(TM) finds the license plate in the images when there is no external trigger mechanism available and these images are then processed by the InSignia4 ALPR software which automatically extracts and reports the license plate number.

The offering is completed by a suite of applications that tailor the InSignia4 technology to the needs of the end-user. This would include application software for retrieving stolen vehicles, allow/deny entry to secure compounds based on license plate numbers, inventorying autos in overnight parking facilities (LPI), performing travel time statistics based on real-time vehicle travel (ATS), integration packages for toll road violation systems (VES) and a variety of third-party access control and parking revenue management solutions.

Jim Kennedy, President of INEX Technologies, suggests, “The product from Zamir has long been recognized to be of excellent quality and we were happy to form our initial agreement three years ago, which allowed us to offer their technology. The marriage of INEX and Zamir simply streamlines our goal to continue to be seen as the premier source for ALPR through the customer service and superior product that is our trademark.”
