Faurecia wins 2008 global supplier quality award from Nissan
Faurecia has been recognized by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. as one of three suppliers to earn its highest honor, the 2008 Global Supplier Quality Award. Faurecia is the only non-Japanese supplier to win this prestigious quality award this year.
The 2008 Award was presented today in Tokyo (Japan) to Faurecia by Toshiyuki Shiga, COO of Nissan to Yann Delabrière, Chairman and CEO of Faurecia, in presence of Kiichiro (Ken) Sato, Senior Vice President Group Quality of Faurecia.
The Nissan award recognizes the highest quality levels supplied by Faurecia’s plants – in Europe, North America and Asia – to Nissan in the fields of automotive seating, interior systems and acoustics. Launched in 2007, Faurecia’s Breakthrough Quality Plan which is led by Kiichiro (Ken) Sato, targets best-in-class quality levels at all of its 190 sites worldwide. At June 30, 2008 some 118 plants (over 60%) already show single digit PPM levels.
"It is truly a great honor to earn this type of recognition from a world-class customer such as Nissan," said Faurecia President and CEO Yann Delabrière. "These awards illustrate the commitment of Faurecia people worldwide to provide our customers with the highest levels of performance, quality, and delivery."
Each year, Nissan recognizes suppliers that have met or exceeded the highest quality standards for parts delivered to its manufacturing plants. The Nissan Supplier Quality Awards are based on year-long evaluation of overall supplier quality performance such as incoming quality, warranty, supplier response time and multiple supplier quality indices.
