Green Diesel Engine Design Ready for Manufacturing
REGI U.S., Inc./Reg Technologies Inc. are pleased to announce that a complete set of manufacturing drawings have been completed and released for competitive bid.
The drawing baseline incorporates the following technical features:
- The new improved RadMax(R) Diesel Engine design has incorporated solutions for vane actuation, cooling, and lubrication. All designs have been incrementally reviewed by the REGI U.S., Inc. and the Fortune 1000 company engineers.
- Extensive computer modeling with COSMOS has produced a lower-weight, higher-strength design. The modeling has lead to an implementation that significantly reduces centripetal forces between the vanes and the seals.
With this approved design, the test program will start shortly after receipt of the RadMax(R) parts and assemblies. The tests will initially validate seal performance, vane actuation, pressurization, and lubrication. A series of tests will verify other technology areas, already proven by extensive analysis.
IMPORTANT TASKS ACCOMPLISHED AS FOLLOWS:
- Rotor cooling system design completed
- Seal lubrication design completed
- The stator ramp design completed driven by an Excel spreadsheet model
- The vane actuator assembly completed reducing weight and friction
- The new vane actuator design does not require any return springs
- The Cam ramp design completed driven by an Excel spreadsheet model
- The Cam incorporates a water-cooling system.
Robert Grisar, Vice President of Engineering, comments, "The objective of the new improved diesel engine design is to make significant improvement over all existing engine designs in use today. The RadMax(R) engine reduces weight, number of parts, and complexity, and will use less fuel, and, therefore, reduce hydrocarbons. The COSMOS analysis on the engine has created a low cost, producible design."
The design incorporates changes recommended to date by the Fortune Company and REGI U.S., Inc. Engineers have analyzed the stress deflections of the vane actuator forces and these are now acceptable for the new diesel engine implementation.
Fabrication of the new diesel engine parts is now underway and a comprehensive testing program will immediately follow. The goal is to license the technology to interested end users for several different applications.

Reg Technologies Inc. and REGI U.S., Inc. are developing an improved axial vane type rotary engine known as the RadMax(R) rotary technology used in the revolutionary design of lightweight and high efficiency engines, compressors and pumps. The RadMax(R) design was mainly developed by Radian Milparts, a large aerospace company, and assigned to REGI U.S., Inc. in December 2005. The RadMax(R) engine has only two unique moving parts, the vanes (up to 12) and the rotor, compared to the 40 moving parts in a simple four-cylinder piston engine. This innovative design makes it possible to produce up to 24 continuous power impulses per one rotation that is vibration-free and extremely quiet.
The RadMax(R) engine also has multi-fuel capabilities allowing it to operate on fuels including gasoline, natural gas, hydrogen, propane and diesel. REGI U.S., Inc. and its parent company, Reg Technologies Inc., have built and tested a RadMax(R) pump application for demonstration purposes and are currently designing and testing the RadMax(R) diesel for a Fortune 1000 Company intended for aviation, automotive, industrial processes and military applications.
