WABCO Holdings, a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, today announced that WABCO supplies advanced driver assistance systems for the 2009 edition of DAF Trucks’ XF105 model which was recently voted “Top Truck of All Time” by Truck & Driver, Britain’s leading magazine focused on professional needs and interests of truck drivers.
DAF Trucks received the prestigious “Top Truck of All Time” award in recognition of the evolution of its top-of-the-line XF105 model as it has over the years continuously set new standards in quality, efficiency and transport performance. The 2009 edition of DAF Trucks’ XF105 features two new options in driver assistance technology supplied by WABCO: adaptive cruise control (ACC) and forward collision warning (FCW). ACC automatically adjusts the truck’s speed to maintain a preset distance to the vehicle ahead. FCW provides an acoustic and visual signal to the driver when it is necessary to act to avoid a collision.
