WABCO Announces Multi-Year Contract With Major Truck Manufacturer in Europe to Supply Innovative Driveline Pedal Module

WABCO Holdings Inc. a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, has announced that a global original equipment manufacturer headquartered in Europe has awarded WABCO a multi-year contract to supply an integrated pedal module to equip heavy- and medium-duty trucks for series production starting in 2013.

Available for both automated and manual gearboxes, WABCO’s integrated pedal module provides a standard interface in the vehicle’s cab environment, resulting in lower installation costs and optimized logistics in original equipment manufacturing processes. Innovatively engineered, WABCO’s pedal module can integrate the throttle and the clutch function together with conventional or electronic braking systems. It is available in light-weight plastic or aluminum housing, depending on customer requirements.

“This major new opportunity marks the continued growth of our technology-leading position in integrated pedal modules for commercial vehicles,” said Hans-Juergen Sander, WABCO Vice President, Driveline Control. “Our passion is to continue setting new standards of performance, reliability and safety while enabling our customers to further simplify and optimize their production methods through innovative, customer-specific modules that plug and play in global manufacturing environments.”
