400°F ELECTRIC BELT CONVEYOR OVEN FROM GRIEVE

by Alan Tran

Grieve Corporation introduces No. 827, a 400°F electric belt conveyor oven, currently in use for preheating automotive fabric panels at a customer’s facility.

Workloads travel atop a 30” wide, mesh Teflon-coated fiberglass conveyor belt with 1/4 HP motor drive, variable speed from 0.5 to 10 feet per minute, through a 78” long open belt loading zone, 120” long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, and a 39” long open unloading zone.

40 kW power is installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular heating elements, while a 4200 CFM, 3 HP recirculating blower provides vertical upward and downward airflow to the workload. This oven is equipped with exhaust hoods over each end of the workspace, to exhaust heat and fumes escaping the open ends of the heat zone.

No. 827 features a conveyor belt tracking system, consisting of photoelectric eyes to sense belt position and shift pneumatically-operated steering rollers.

This Grieve oven has an aluminized steel interior and exterior, 4” thick insulated walls, plus all the safety equipment required for handling flammable solvents.

This conveyor oven was entirely designed, engineered, built and fully tested by Grieve
