Audatex Launches AudaVIN Intelligent Vehicle Identification System
New Software Maximizes Total Loss and Estimating Accuracy, Minimizes Inspection Times for Appraisers and Collision Repair Estimators
Audatex North America announced the launch of AudaVIN, an intelligent vehicle identification system that marks the company's latest innovation in vehicle identification technology.
AudaVIN makes use of vehicle identification number (VIN) data to give insurance claim representatives, appraisers and collision repair estimators complete vehicle-specific information recorded by manufacturers on the production line. Within seconds, vehicle-specific content such as model name, standard equipment, engine and transmission data, as well as all factory-fitted optional equipment, is returned to the application through a direct connection to vehicle manufacturers.
"This information is critical for the accuracy of total loss fair market values and calculation of damage repair costs. Better accuracy in options identification with AudaVIN reduces total loss corrections and part returns," said Patrick Schmidlin, vice president of product management, Audatex North America. "The end result is reduced cycle times and loss adjustment expenses, as well as improved vehicle owner satisfaction."
"Our goal is to innovate with technology solutions such as AudaVIN that allow our insurance and repair facility customers to achieve accurate and expedited claim settlement and vehicle repair," added Schmidlin.
Featuring easy-to-use, one-click or automatic capabilities, AudaVIN is designed to yield time savings of up to 20 percent per vehicle inspection. The software is fully integrated within Audatex total loss (Autosource) and estimating systems to provide claim handlers, appraisers and estimators a streamlined vehicle identification process for all claims.
"AudaVIN is an example of best-in-class technology that was developed in collaboration with our global partners at Audatex. At the same time, AudaVIN leverages our strong relationships with vehicle manufacturers worldwide," said Gary Gumushian, vice president, Audatex North America, Solera Global Automotive Center.
Many European vehicle makes are already available within AudaVIN in the U.S., with additional OEM partnerships underway. AudaVIN will also be available in Canada by August 2011.
Pilot customers are reporting positive outcomes with use of the software. "AudaVIN has proven to be an invaluable tool," said Brian Viveiros, Carl's Collision, Fall River, MA. "It captures options that would have been otherwise impossible to capture during the inspection process."
