KW HLS (Hydraulic Lift System) for sports cars

KW suspensions announces their new Hydraulic Lift System (HLS). KW suspensions are offering an innovative solution that presents numerous advantages for sport car owners.

HLS equipped vehicles are able to increase their ride height from 30mm to 45mm depending on their vehicle application. This is advantageous for vehicles with lowered suspensions and/or sports cars fitted with spoilers, cars with long overhangs or extremely low body-styling components. Vehicles as such may encounter problems such as: entering underground garages, ferries transports, car washes and driving over other obstacles. HLS is also beneficial when driving on extremely rough roads, through road construction and when negotiating speed bumps. Lifting the vehicle’s ride height helps to prevent damage and increases sports cars drivability for everyday use.

The HLS has been designed to be used in combination with KW coilovers. For other vehicle applications with a standard-fitted coilover suspension, such as for the Porsche GT3 and the GT3 RS, KW offers a complete solution comprised of springs and the HLS. HLS is available in two different versions: HLS 2, which is installed on the front axle and HLS 4, which outfits all 4 axles, thus making it possible to lift the entire vehicle. Rubber bellows are used to protect the hydraulic cylinder unit against stone chips and contamination, thereby providing long term durability. The hydraulic cylinder unit is installed between the spring perch and spring. The pump unit is installed inside or near the spare wheel well. Lifting the vehicle is done remotely with an electronic keychain transmitter avoiding any need to run additional wiring through the vehicle. Lifting the vehicle can be activated whether stationary or in motion, up to speeds of 80 km/h. Over 80 km/h, the vehicle is automatically lowered to its standard level. This ensures that the vehicle’s aerodynamic benefits are not affected during high speed driving. When parked, the HLS lowers the vehicle automatically and the electronic unit goes into “sleep mode”, to prolong battery life.

For extremely lowered sport compacts or other sports cars, there is a universal kit available. Not only reserved for high-end sports cars, KW HLS Individual can also be used for other popular automobiles, e.g. Audi A4, Ford Focus, Honda Civic etc.. KW HLS Individual is fitted in combination with a KW coilover suspension.

1. HLS conversion kit with shorter springs to adapt to existing KW coilover

2. HLS conversion kit with lowering springs for OEM coilover kits (such as Porsche GT2 or GT3)

3. Complete KW coilover kit with HLS adapted to it.
