ESI GROUP’S PAM-STAMP 2G SOFTWARE NOW AVAILABLE WITH TRIFORM SHEET HYDROFORMING PRESSES
Pryer Technology Group (PTG), manufacturer of Triform Sheet Hydroforming presses, announces a new strategic partnership with ESI Group, a pioneer and world-leading solution provider in virtual prototyping for manufacturing industries. Under the agreement, Triform Sheet Hydroforming presses are now available with ESI Group’s PAM-STAMP 2G forming simulation software.
PAM-STAMP 2G, designed specifically for sheet metal forming, is a complete, integrated, scalable and streamlined solution that allows users to simulate the forming process before tooling is even developed. It covers the entire tooling process, from quotation and die design through formability and try-out validation. The software eliminates the guesswork and trial-and-error of traditional part development, minimizing start-up costs and moving new parts to Triform press production faster.
“We’re very proud to be able to offer PAM-STAMP 2G to our Triform customers,” says Scott Pryer, president of PTG. “Our presses were already designed to simplify and speed up part development, but in combination with ESI’s powerful forming simulation software, OEMs and parts manufacturers will see even greater cost and time savings in experimenting with new parts and materials.”
In addition, PAM-STAMP 2G brings together the design engineer, the material provider, the die designer and the Triform press operator — allowing them to communicate and make decisions online — from the early stages of design right through to production. The web-enabled technology allows images, annotation, text and 3D models to be shared, thereby creating and supporting a truly collaborative engineering environment.
Complex sheet metal part development and production will be easier, faster and less expensive than ever before with the combination of PAM-STAMP 2G software and a Triform press, according to Pryer. “Just imagine being able to form parts virtually, discovering any potential forming issues before quoting a job, or solving thinning and/or wrinkling problems before you begin production. What you simulate in PAM-STAMP 2G will then become reality on your Triform Press,” he says.
In conjunction with the new partnership announcement, Pryer spoke at the recent ESI Global Forum 2012 in San Diego. Presenting alongside manufacturing industry experts from Lockheed Martin, Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Caterpillar and many others, Pryer discussed how manufacturers in a range of industries can get the most out of today’s new generation of sheet hydroforming presses.
