Henkel Corporation’s automotive group and long time partner, Cavist Corporation, based in Reno, NV, announced the ability to provide local prototyping for low-pressure injection molding at Henkel’s automotive headquarters in Madison Heights, Mich.
Low-pressure injection molding prevents damage to delicate electronic and electrical automotive components. Henkel has achieved this with a one component, low viscosity TECHNOMELT adhesive.
The prototyping capabilities are available at little to no cost for the automotive manufacturing and supplier communities. Local prototyping provides an opportunity to understand the capabilities low-pressure molding offers prior to investing in the technology, lead time, processing time and associated costs.
“Henkel has achieved injection molding pressures as low as 1.8 bar (25 psi),” said Jeff Koehler, Business Development Manager, Henkel. “Low pressure is key to ensuring fragile electronic components are kept in tact.”
