Inc. magazine announces that Square Root, Inc., an Austin-based enterprise SaaS company, ranked 41 among software companies and 510 overall on the 32nd annual Inc. 500ǀ5000 list of the fastest-growing, private companies in America. The list represents an important segment of the economy: America's rapidly growing and most successful independent entrepreneurs.

"Earning the 41st spot in the Software category on the Inc. 5000 is a huge accomplishment for us," said Chris Taylor, CEO of Square Root. "We have an incredibly talented team of people who think that to be great, software needs to be customer-inspired and constantly improving. It's that view and our partnership approach that have driven our rapid growth year over year."

Since 2006, Square Root has been building cloud-based, data-driven software to help large businesses optimize their operations. Currently, six automotive manufacturers, 73 utilities, and one large retail chain are using Square Root's software to improve day to day business operations. Square Root's primary focus areas are retail channel performance management, product inventory stocking optimization, and electric vehicle market development. The company's flagship software platform, Performance360, which is currently used by automotive manufacturers such as Nissan, improves efficiency and overall performance throughout the sales and service channel. Performance360 creates alignment and accountability by enabling users to collaborate, pinpoint areas for improvement, track daily activities, and measure the business impact of their actions in real time.

"The Inc. 5000 was harder to get into this year than ever in its history," said Eric Schurenberg, Editor of Inc. magazine. "The median company on the list increased sales more than 140 percent since the start of 2010, while the average honoree grew a mind-boggling 468 percent. Those are results most companies could only dream of in the economy of the past three years."

Square Root, Inc. achieved an 899 percent growth in sales over the past three years. An interactive database with the complete list of honorees, the industries they serve, and their sales growth rates can be accessed at Inc.com/inc5000/list.
