Halla Visteon Climate Control Corp. (KS: 018880), a majority-owned subsidiary of Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC), today announced the start of manufacturing operations on the premises of an industrial partner in Togliatti, Russia. The plant, HVCC’s first in Russia, is part of the company’s plans to drive continued growth of its climate business and supports expanding customer needs in Russia.

The new facility initially will assemble cooling modules and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units for automakers in Russia. The number of employees is anticipated to reach nearly 300 over a three-year period.

“We are excited about the capability this new facility offers,” said Nurdal Kücükkaya, president of Halla Visteon Climate Control in Europe. “It is ideally located to supply vehicle manufacturers in one of Russia’s most important automotive clusters. Our presence in Russia strengthens our ability to respond to the ongoing demand for climate products and to meet local content requirements.”

The new manufacturing plant, Halla Visteon Rus LLC, is located in the city of Togliatti (Samara region), approximately 1,000 kilometers southeast of Moscow. The facility began assembling HVAC and cooling modules on Aug. 5.
