Mitchell Plastics, a manufacturer of innovative interior parts for the automotive industry, announced today that it is expanding into Mexico. A new manufacturing facility in Queretaro is under construction and will begin operations in March, 2014. Queretaro is a dynamic and growing city in the heart of Central Mexico’s rapidly expanding automotive sector.
“We are very excited to be expanding into Mexico as a result of our continued growth in North America,” said Peter Gibb, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Mitchell Plastics. “The new facility in Queretaro is in an ideal location and will allow us to improve our support to our current customers while opening new opportunities for future growth in Mexico.”
The new Queretaro operation, when completed, will have 155,000 square feet of manufacturing space for injection molding and painting. Mitchell Plastics expects to create 350 new full-time employment positions when full capacity is achieved. Initial shipments to existing customers begin next spring.
