Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies plant receives Ford Q1 Certification, celebrates anniversary

Faurecia, North America’s fifth-largest automotivesupplier, announced that its emissions control technologies manufacturingfacility in Brampton, Ontario, has been awarded Q1 certification from FordMotor Company.

 

The 169 employee facility, which recently celebrated itstwo-year anniversary, manufactures cold-end components for the emissionscontrol system on the Ford Edge, Ford Flex and Lincoln MKX.

 

To achieve Q1 certification, Ford suppliers must meetstringent criteria, including: International Organization of Standardization(TS 16949 & ISO 14001) certification; proper implementation of qualityoperating and management systems, as well as environmental management systemsand customer endorsements.

 

“Raising the Ford Q1 flag on this facility is notonly a celebration of Faurecia’s growth and performance, but also recognitionof Brampton’s contributions to the future of our industry and of thepartnership and commitment that Faurecia shares with our customers,” saidMark Stidham, President of Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies (FECT) inNorth America.

 

Stidham added that the achievement is a testament to theeffectiveness of the Faurecia Excellence System (FES), which ensures thatexcellence and continuous improvement in quality, cost and delivery areinstilled in every stage of the manufacturing process.

 

“We strive to consistently implement customerspecifications, regulatory requirements, best practices, quality indicators andFaurecia’s own internal requirements as part of the FES,” Stidham said.”Ultimately, the FES enables us to actively involve employees at alllevels of the organization, forge partnerships with suppliers, and consistentlydeliver quality products on time for our customers.”

 

In North America, FECT produces a complete line ofemissions control and acoustic components from its Columbus, Indiana, R&Dcenter and 15 manufacturing facilities. FECT is an Aligned Business Frameworksupplier.
