Henniges Automotive Expands Global Footprint with New Facilities in China and Germany

Henniges Automotive Holdings, Inc., a leading supplier of highly engineered sealing and anti-vibration systems for the global automotive market, announced it will open a new technical and tooling center in Beijing, China, as well as a new engineering and sales office in Munich, Germany, on Sept. 1.

“These strategic initiatives will allow Henniges Automotive to better support the rapidly increasing technical, commercial and developmental needs of key automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in China and Germany, and encourage future business growth,” said Peter Seto, Henniges vice president of global engineering. “We look forward to continuing our success as a leading supplier of dynamic sealing solutions locally and for the automotive industry worldwide.”

The 1,350 square-meter (14,000 square-foot) Beijing technical and tooling facility will provide testing and validation of parts, as well as in-house product design, development and tooling capabilities. The facility will include multiple advanced testing equipment that will be housed in the new technical center and aid Henniges Automotive in keeping vehicles quiet and dry. The facility is expected to create 60 jobs by 2019.

The Munich office will house a number of managers and engineers to support BMW programs, creating an opportunity to better serve its customer. “Henniges Automotive’s new Munich office creates an opportunity to further drive continuous improvement and serve unique customer needs, specifically within the European market,” said Ann Budin, Henniges vice president of European operations. “This strategic move allows our team to have a presence in southeast Germany, a natural progression to the success we’ve found in the northern region.”

“Beyond adding to our local operations, the office offers another space for our global teammates to work, stimulating cross-market collaborations,” said Boris Gavric, Henniges vice president of global sales and marketing. “Opening these facilities is one of our newest endeavors toward strengthening our ability to serve important international markets, and further expanding Henniges Automotive’s global footprint.”

Within these new locations, Henniges Automotive will draw from its significant expertise in global product adaptation to develop quality solutions for local customer programs. Henniges Automotive has five existing facilities in China: Beijing, Changchun, Chengdu, Tianjin and Tieling. The company also has four additional technical centers and manufacturing plants throughout Europe, located in Viersen and Rehburg-Loccum, Germany, and Mlada Boleslav and Hranice, Czech Republic.

In addition to these facilities, Henniges Automotive recently announced plans to begin construction of a new plant in Gomez Palacio, Mexico (http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/henniges-automotive-breaks-ground-on-fourth-manufacturing-facility-in-mexico-300128837.html), which the company expects to open in 2016.
