Faurecia celebrates new seating plant in Simpsonville, Kentucky

Faurecia, one of North America's largest automotive suppliers, has inaugurated a new automotive seating plant in Simpsonville, Kentucky. The facility, located at 65 Kingbrook Parkway, started production in May and plans to employ more than 500 people from the area.

 

"Faurecia has been welcomed with open arms by the Simpsonville community," Nik Endrud, President of Faurecia Automotive Seating North America, said during the facility's flag-raising event. "The enthusiasm and support we've received here has helped us create a local workforce of the highest quality, which reflects in the quality of the product."

 

The Simpsonville plant produces complete seat systems for the Ford Super Duty Truck, which comes in the Ford 250, 350, 450, 550 and Chassis Cab F650/750 models, and supports two Ford plants.

 

"With our new facility in Simpsonville, we are setting new standards in quality, productivity, competitiveness, and flexibility for the benefit of our customers and local workforce," Endrud said. "Excellence is our goal in everything we do, and that includes our relationships with each other, with the communities in which we operate and with the environment around us."

 

With operations at 76 sites in 25 countries, Faurecia Automotive Seating is the world leader in the manufacture of high-performance seating mechanisms, global-standard frames and advanced mechatronics systems. The company ranks in the top three for production of complete seats and is renowned for its seating innovations that provide smart comfort solutions. North America is the second-largest region for Faurecia Automotive Seating, following Europe.

 

The 122,000 square-foot Simpsonville plant is the 36th Faurecia production site in North America. In all, Faurecia employs more than 20,000 people in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
