EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA, the North African meeting for professionals working in all-vehicle aftersales

EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA

The trade show EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA, the North African meeting for professionals working in all-vehicle aftersales and services, opened from Monday 27 February to Thursday 2 March 2017 at the Palais de Expositions Pins Maritimes (SAFEX) in Algiers.

Throughout the four-day event, the entire automotive aftersales and subcontracting industry will exhibit all of its innovation, products and know-how.

With a total of 340 exhibitors, up 11% on the 2016 event, international participation will once again be massive, with more than 75% of exhibitors from outside Algeria and representing about twenty countries.

Six nations will have their own national pavilions or official representation: CHINA, INDIA, MOROCCO, POLAND, TAIWAN and TURKEY. Other participants hail from countries such as BELGIUM, FRANCE, GERMANY, INDIA, ITALY, MALAYSIA, SOUTH KOREA, TUNISIA, the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, the UNITED KINGDOM and the USA.

EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA is thus the most wide-ranging and comprehensive gathering of equipment, machinery, products and services for vehicle repair and maintenance professionals. (These include repair and bodywork shops, importers, wholesalers, traders, fleet managers and automotive service providers, etc.).

Among the exhibiting firms can be noted several global market leaders such as AC DELCO, BOSCH, MANN-HUMMEL, MICHELIN, SM, TMD FRICTION, SNR, etc. and domestic leaders such as GMS, IVECO (IVAL), NAFTAL, PETROSER, RENAULT ALGERIE (MOTRIO), RENAULT TRUCKS ALGERIE, SIKA EL DJAZAIR, TABCO-GH-MULTIMEDIA (GROUPE HASNAOUI), TOTAL LUBRIFIANTS ALGERIE, … as well as large Algerian importers and manufacturers of replacement parts and garage equipment alongside major suppliers.

This year’s event sees a record number of Algerian manufacturers taking part, representing more than 10% of the total number of domestic exhibitors. This figure confirms the support shown by economic operators for the new industrial policy in Algeria. The resurgence of the automotive industry is well and truly underway.

For the first time, the show will have the pleasure of welcoming the Ministry for Vocational Education through its Es Senia Institute. As a reminder, the Oran wilaya was selected by the supervising ministry as a pilot wilaya to develop a specialist workforce for the automotive industry; this institute is engaged in an approach aiming to promote these job specialities.

Several special highlights focussing on CHANGE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY will be held throughout this 11th edition, featuring experts and professionals offering their insight into the issues and challenges of this industry in Algeria.

Morning of 27 February: A lecture addressing the theme: The development of the automotive sector in Algerian and its industrial fabric (Current situation and outlook).

Afternoon of 27 February: A presentation of vocational training and education entitled “Vocational training and the economic actors in the automotive sector”, followed by another lecture on the theme of road safety: New laws and regulations.

Morning of 28 February: The 1st Club Argus Algérie will be launched at EQUIP AUTO ALGERIA, with in particular a presentation highlighting the potential benefits of structuring the used vehicle sector, on the theme of “Used vehicles to give further impetus to the market”.
