Jyco Sealing Technologies has named Jin Kameyama as Executive Account Manager, Japanese OEMs for its North American operations. Kameyama joins Jyco after 27 years with Mitsubishi, where he was testing manager and, most recently, Mitsubishi´s Senior Manager of Testing at Mitsubishi Motors R&D of America, Inc. (MRDA), Ann Arbor.

Kameyama´s hire is part of the Michigan-based company´s strategy to position its North American operations to do more automotive weathersealing business directly with Japanese transplants in the U.S. Jyco has been supplying compound as a tier two supplier to Japanese OEMs in North America for several years. The company´s Jyco Asia affiliate also has overseas production contracts with Asian OEMs through an engineering center in Nogoya, Japan, and a manufacturing plant in Shanghai. Announced in January 2005, the Jyco Asia joint venture with Inoac Corporation was automotive industry´s first global alliance for producing TPV sealing systems. Jyco also has operations in Belgium, Canada, and Latin America.

“It is exciting to join the company that´s leading the shift to TPV in North America,” comments Kameyama. “The clean processing and 100% recyclability of JyFlex TPV (the company´s proprietary thermoplastic vulcanizate compound) already meet Japan´s and Europe´s stricter environmental standards. The added benefits in performance, lighter weight and potential cost advantages make it very attractive to all OEMs.”
