MUTH Mirror Systems, LLC has earned ISO 9001:2000 certification. The scope of the registration is for the design and manufacture of
automotive safety products, including glass shape cutting, electronic fabrication and
assembly. The certificate covers all four of their facilities including manufacturing at
4221 High Tech Lane and 2021 North Avenue, Sheboygan, WI; and their sales offices
in Michigan and Japan. The certificate #M053107 has an effective date of May 2007
and expires in June 2010.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a network of 148
countries working to establish and enhance universal standards of operation for
businesses. ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized standard for quality
management and pertains to the processes that create and control the products and
services a business provides. The rigorous ISO standards are audited by an external
entity to ensure the standards are met and maintained.

As with all ISO applications, this involved review of the quality manuals and
procedures MUTH follows by an independent auditing firm. The full on-site audit
ensured that working practices observe the procedures stated objectives and that
appropriate records are kept. MUTH chose Verisys Registrars to oversee their
auditing process.

There are many reasons a company chooses to undertake the intense ISO
certification process. These include: it shows commitment to quality, customers, and a
willingness to work towards improving efficiency; it proves that an effective quality
management system is in place that meets the extremely high standards of an
independent, external audit; it enhances the company’s image for customers,
employees and shareholders; and it offers a competitive edge when marketing the
company’s products or services.

A company typically see a higher level of responsibility and quality
consciousness from staff, improved use of time and resources, reduced waste, and
increased consistency of products and services once ISO certification is attained.
“We worked hard and feel honored to have earned the ISO certification. The
automotive industry, like many others, is extremely competitive, so this confirms in the
minds of those we work with our commitment to ongoing quality management and dayto-
day operations,” says Michael Muth, CEO of MUTH Mirror Systems.
