Auburn Hills based Leather Company Provides Leather for Award Winning Vehicles
Across the board, Eagle Ottawa, the world’s largest automotive leather supplier, headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI, has upholstered the interiors of the most acclaimed 2008 vehicles.
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) has named Chevrolet Malibu the Car of the Year. The all-new, redesigned Malibu includes a completely reinvented cockpit featuring Eagle Ottawa’s “tipped” leather.
Runners up for Car of the Year are Cadillac CTS and Honda Accord. Both the CTS and Accord 2-door also include Eagle Ottawa leather in their award-winning interiors.
Notable, too, is Eagle Ottawa’s inclusion in many of the applauded cars and trucks of the year in the industry’s top publications and auto shows that award honors (see partial list below).
Vice-President of Design Pat Oldenkamp has long had a reputation for combining couture with vehicle interior design. "The trend for softer, more fashion- and furniture-oriented materials inside cars is evident everywhere. Malibu´s bold, sporty new interior with two-tone, tipped seat inserts are a prime example of converting high-fashion into car-fashion. Eagle Ottawa is right on target with this phenomenon – it explains why our leather is in so many award winning cars and trucks."
