Electricfil Australia – Bougicord
Stan Rusiniak :
Last November, Electricfil Australia Pty Ltd will celebrate its 10th Anniversary supplying the Australian OEM Automotive manufacturing industry and the Independent Automotive Aftermarket.
"It´s hard to believe that November will mark 10 years of Electricfil supply of auto Bougicord ignition leads, coils and sensors here in Melbourne," said Stan Rusiniak, Electricfil Australia’s General Manager. The founding engineer when the plant opened, Stan is joined by Gordon Hanks – Accounting & Finance (System Business Services Pty Ltd), and Geoff Musgrove - Public Officer (Maddocks Lawyers) who were present when the ignition leads began rolling out the door to the GM-Holden Engine Operations assembly line. Electricfil also supply the Ford Customer Service Division, Holden Service Parts Operations, and a number of Australian & New Zealand Independent Aftermarket customers.
"We set out with a concept that was quite simple - to deliver quality products, on time by being close to ours customers," Rusiniak said. "One of Electricfil´s strengths is never forgetting that everything we´ve accomplished is due to the involvement and teamwork of our parent company, customers and our service providers like Tony Bell & George Gal – Customs, Warehousing & Distribution (Curlett Cannon & Galbell Pty Ltd).”
Over two years ago, Eugene Hortinela joined the team as the Aftermarket Specialist and Manager.
"We´ve definitely received some attention this year," said Hortinela, we have featured at the recent Australian Automotive Aftermarket Trade Show, and in Australian Trade magazines. "We´ve grown and attracted new clients," Hortinela said. "But the reason we´re here hasn’t changed. We are always eager to hear from customers and receiving their feedback in our premium Bougicord brand premium quality products.
Electricfil Australia’s parent company Electricfil Automotive celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2006. “It was sad that Jean Thollin the founding father, and past chairman of Electricfil, and the inventor of the inductive core - spiral ignition cable, past away early this year. As he, with our president Patrick Thollin was a major influence in the establishment of Electricfil Australia in 1997,” Rusiniak said.

According to Stan Rusiniak, the parent company - Electricfil Automotive “besides being the European leader in ignition leads under the Bougicord brand, is also the European leader for camshaft, crank angle and position sensors for engines and transmissions". A bold statement to make, but believable when looking at the company today. The French, Beynost headquartered 100% automotive focused supplier employs 1,360 people worldwide, sells some 30 million sensors per year and has an annual turnover of AUD $234 million. Established in 1936, Electricfil primarily concentrates on four areas of the market: engine management, ignition systems, and transmission and vehicle dynamics. Within these fields, the 100% family-run company focuses on the development of cost-effective, processes that cut emissions pollution and support automotive electronic systems. Electricfil Automotive has subsidiaries in Australia (Electricfil Australia Pty Ltd) as well as in USA, Turkey, and China.
As featured at recent Australian Trade Show, Electricfil is looking for distributors in the Australian market for their range of Bougicord engine management solutions - ignition lead sets, coils & sensors.
