NovaCast receives Camito order from Läpple – one of Europe’s largest independent manufacturers of large stamping dies and car body parts

NovaCast Technologies AB :
The order refers to die shoe castings for a trimming die that Läpple will use for the production of car body parts for an international automotive group. The weight per die shoe half is approximately 7 tons, giving a total weight of approximately 14 tons. The order of Camito castings is one step of Läpples efforts to further enhance efficiency in their die production.

August Läpple GmbH & Co KG in Heilbronn is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of stamping tools, production systems and car body parts, with customers like BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, Volvo, Ford, and Jaguar.
Läpple’s tool and die department employs 300 people. Läpple is one of Camito’s priority customers with whom it has been Camito’s aim to establish a customer relationship. The order is the result of intentions expressed earlier to focus on the German automotive market. This is Läpple’s first Camito order and is an important step in our future cooperation.

Camito die shoe castings are produced at Camito Technology Center. By using the Camito technology, customers can save up to 20% of tool steel. The number of loose inserts will also be reduced in the completed die and the active trimming surfaces will be in one uniform piece. Weight, total costs and lead times are reduced trough the Camito technology. Less need for steel also reduces the total energy consumption for die production, resulting in a positive effect on the environment.

NovaCast Technologies, listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange (NCAS B), develops and markets enhanced castings for the production of car body parts, as well as software for methoding, simulating and process control for more efficient production processes to the global automotive industry and its subcontractors. With the Camito technology enhanced castings are manufactured in one solid piece for the production of dies for forming and stamping automotive body components in a considerably shorter time than traditional dies. Through die manufacturer SwePart the group has expertise within the whole value chain for the production and sales of stamping dies.
