Mitsubishi Electric has been awarded the Regional Quality Award for Powertrain Systems from Nissan International S.A. The award recognises companies with outstanding quality achievements in delivering parts, responding quickly to issues and improving performance.
The award was given for Mitsubishi Electric’s supply of alternators and starter motors to Nissan Europe. The company manufactures these parts in the Czech Republic and has been supplying them to a number of Nissan vehicles, including the Qashqai, Juke and Navarra models for more than five years, with approximately 1.2million units delivered. Mitsubishi Electric is one of 543 companies that supply production parts to Nissan in Europe.
Keiichi Nakajima, Product Marketing Director, at Mitsubishi Electric, comments: “Nissan’s award recognises the superior high quality of our alternators and starter motors, and this is something which we’re incredibly proud to receive. We have worked with Nissan for many years in Europe and we hope that our partnership will continue for many years to come.”
Alan Bohill, Supplier Quality Assurance Manager (Purchase) at Nissan comments: “Mitsubishi Electric has consistently delivered on both quality and performance, and with zero plant rejections over three years, is a deserving winner of this award.”
Nissan presents the Quality Awards to suppliers whose products display impressive quality, reliability and warranty features. The 2012 Quality Award was presented to Mitsubishi Electric and other winners at a ceremony in Milton Keynes on 18 July.
