Methodology

This survey was conducted by Lewis & Clark Research, an independent research organization.  The questionnaires were mailed first-class on February 22, 2005 to a total of 1000 automotive publication readers, accompanied by a $1 incentive and a business-reply envelope.  Automotive Industries was not identified as the sponsor of the survey. 

A total of 546 usable returns were received by the March 24, 2005 cut-off date.  In addition, two blank questionnaires were received.

The final usable response rate for this survey was 55%.
