ADCOLE Camshaft Measuring Machine Gets Updated Electronics and Motor Controls

ADCOLE Corporation is announcing several significant upgrades to their submicron accuracy, end-of-line camshaft inspection gage that provides high-speed production monitoring of up to 200 parts-per-hour.

The ADCOLE 1310 High-Speed Camshaft Gage is an end-of-line inspection gage that can measure 10 or more parameters including radius, profile, taper, crown, timing angle, diameter, velocity, acceleration, run-out, roundness, and concentricity. Providing 0.1 micron resolution per data point, this camshaft gage has been upgraded with dual computers, Windows XP(R) embedded software, and GE Fanuc(R) motion controllers.

Incorporating a Eurocard PCB format with diagnostic test points in front for high reliability and ease of maintenance, the ADCOLE 1310 High-Speed Camshaft Gage has a display that lets operators visually monitor throughput with green, yellow, and red plots depicting in-tolerance, reaching control limits, and out of tolerance status. Featuring gage room accuracy, it offers user-programmable measurement parameters and easy part setup changes.

The ADCOLE 1310 High-Speed Camshaft Gage is priced from $475,000.00 Literature and price quotations are available upon request.

About ADCOLE Corporation

Adcole Corporation is the global center of expertise for designing and manufacturing the world’s highest accuracy machines for measuring camshafts, crankshafts and pistons, as well as digital sun angle sensors for space satellites. No other company can better measure critically important reciprocating engine components or the angle to the sun.

Founded in 1957, Adcole has manufacturing facilities in both Massachusetts and Florida and offices across the world, maintaining close relationships with their customers. The company’s success, to a large extent, is based upon responding to their customers’ requests for further refinements based upon their real-world experience. Most of these refinements have dealt with the need for higher accuracy and the need to measure more parameters including radius, profile, taper, crown, timing angle, diameter, velocity, acceleration, runout, and roundness and concentricity. Another key reason for Adcole’s success is their exemplary commitment to R&D.

Today, more than 500 automobile and supplier companies worldwide employ Adcole computerized inspection gages for quality control checks on camshafts and crankshafts. These companies include General Motors, Ford, ThyssenKrupp, VW, Chrysler, Toyota, Fiat, Nissan, Renault, Hyundai, Volvo, Suzuki, Caterpillar, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Cummins, FAW, Tata, MAN, John Deere, SAIC, FAW, and Dong Feng.
