Henniges Automotive Breaks Ground on Fourth Manufacturing Facility in Mexico

Henniges Automotive Holdings, Inc., a leading supplier of highly engineered sealing and anti-vibration systems for the global automotive market, recently broke ground on its new manufacturing facility in Gomez Palacio, Mexico. The facility, expected to be operational by 2016, will support six vehicle platforms and is expected to employ up to 1,200 associates onsite, many of whom will be recruited locally.

The 323,000 square foot (30,000 square meter) operating space is the company’s fourth in Mexico, adding to its facility in Torreon that opened in 2012. The Gomez Palacio facility will be the company’s largest location in the country and second largest worldwide. It is strategically positioned to expand the company’s global footprint, helping satisfy the needs of both domestic and international customers, and draws from a long history of working in the region.

“It is of utmost importance for us at Henniges Automotive to serve our customers effectively, reliably and efficiently. This new facility gives us an opportunity to exceed key customer demand locally, while adding to our presence worldwide,” said Larry Rollins, Henniges vice president of global manufacturing. “Based on an uptick in regional business for our leading dynamic sealing solutions, paired with the growth of the automotive market in Mexico and the rest of Latin America, we’re confident this facility will serve us and our customers well.”

In addition to its central location, Gomez Palacio offers a large population of highly skilled workers, as well as numerous universities and technical institutes. Henniges Automotive, remaining consistent in its regional focus, plans to tap into this strong talent pool as part of its efforts to attract and retain associates.

“In order for any organization to succeed, it needs to have a connection to its community. Attracting local talent is a priority, and we believe it will strengthen our relationship with the people of Gomez Palacio,” said Boris Gavric, Henniges vice president of global sales and marketing.

The Gomez Palacio facility will produce a variety of automotive sealing systems – including dynamic, beltline and glass run seals – as well as anti-vibration systems, such as bushings, exhaust-hanger systems and center bearings, that are fitted to an automobile’s drive and powertrain, chassis and suspension.

In addition to the facility in Gomez Palacio, Henniges Automotive will open a new office in Munich, Germany, in August 2015, as well as a technical and tooling center in Beijing, China, on Sept. 1, 2015.
