AISIN is accelerating its electrification strategy to address the unprecedented growth in global demand
for carbon neutrality within the automotive industry. Already deeply involved in a variety of
automotive mobility-related fields including intelligent technology, location-based services and
products dedicated to driving, turning, and stopping, the company is ideally placed to make a
transformative contribution to the future of electrified vehicles.
At the heart of electrification are the electric units of the vehicle’s powertrain, for which AISIN offers
a full lineup of products for hybrid vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles
(BEVs), and fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs). Recognizing that energy policies and user preferences differ by
country and region, the company emphasizes a comprehensive approach and product diversification
to ensure fast, optimal support for the wide-ranging needs of customers around the world.
For BEVs, AISIN’s eAxle electric unit developed in partnership with BluE Nexus and DENSO already
focuses on high efficiency and compact design, but the upcoming second-generation eAxle will further
advance the model to achieve world-class efficiency. In addition, AISIN is working on its Xin1 concept,
which integrates multiple key components such as motors, inverters, gears, power converters and
thermal management functions, with controls incorporated. By eliminating the need for separate
casings, cables and piping, the integrated design is more compact and offers greater flexibility in
vehicle design-expanded passenger and trunk space for example-while reducing overall weight and
improving energy efficiency.
Leveraging its broad product portfolio and manufacturing expertise, AISIN is also strengthening the
development of new products for overall vehicle electrification. This includes regenerative
cooperative brakes, thermal management devices, aerodynamic devices, and lightweight battery
structural components-all of which are focused on achieving high efficiency and compact design.
With these innovations, AISIN expects to improve BEV energy efficiency by more than 18% at the
vehicle level.
AISIN attributes its position as a world leader in electrification to the dedication of its skilled engineers
and their intense commitment to high-quality manufacturing. The company’s goal is to deliver
products that exceed customer expectations and create moving experiences-products that truly
touch people’s hearts.
