DEKRA Opens New Laboratory Complex

    DEKRA isexpanding its capacities in the field of product testing. The internationalexpert organisation has held a ceremony to mark the opening of a new,state-of-the-art laboratory in Arnhem, the Netherlands. With these testingfacilities, which are among the most modern in Europe, DEKRA will be able tomeet customer needs for the testing and certification of a wide range ofproducts and components even better than before.

    “With thisinvestment for the future, we are strengthening the Arnhem site as a competencecentre and the headquarters for DEKRA’s global activities in the business unitProduct Testing and Certification,” said Stefan Kolbl, Chairman of theManagement Board of DEKRA e.V. and DEKRA SE during the opening ceremony for thenew premises. “After Germany and France, the Netherlands is thethird-largest market for DEKRA. The product testing business is one of the mostimportant growth drivers for the DEKRA Group.”

In our laboratories, we have access to additional testingservices that are specifically for the automotive industry and with which weare widening our offering for this target group even further.”

    Theseven-storey building complex is situated to the west of Arnhem close to theA12 motorway, where it comprises 14,000 m2 of office and laboratory space andis home to 350 highly qualified experts. A new addition is the 4,000 m2 testinghall, which has a ceiling height up to 12 m and is equipped with variouslaboratories with state-of-the-art equipment for product tests that focus onelectrical safety, durability and fitness for use. Amongst others, newinnovative activities including environmental simulation, explosion protectionand electromobility battery testing.

    DEKRA isinvolved in many areas of business in the Netherlands. In addition to theproduct testing business, DEKRA also offers services in the field of explosionprotection, system certification and approvals for medical products.Furthermore, DEKRA also offers automotive services at multiple sites, includingvehicle damage assessments and claim settlements, vehicle assessments and HRservices.
