TOL-O-MATIC, Inc. announces that it has been awarded a multi-year contract from General Motors, naming TOL-O-MATIC as the global supplier of its ServoWeld(R) actuators for GM’s assembly operations. The contract was awarded in April 2006 and is a result of General Motors’ implementation of global standardization for equipment commonality between manufacturing plants.
“The shift from pneumatic to servo actuators is the result of an industry push to produce a more efficient and cost-effective resistance spot welding solution for body-in-white applications,” said Daniel Cass, Business Development Manager for TOL-O-MATIC. “With ServoWeld technology, we see many production improvements including greater consistency and better overall performance versus traditional RSW systems.”
TOL-O-MATIC made use of extensive voice-of-the-customer market research to design and build a best-in-class servo actuator for automotive RSW. With the new contract in place, TOL-O-MATIC will serve as the primary supplier of ServoWeld actuators for General Motors manufacturing plants globally.
TOL-O-MATIC, Inc. is an ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturer with sales representation throughout the world. TOL-O-MATIC has been designing and building high-quality linear motion control products for over 50 years.
