ANX and ENX to Set Global Automotive Communication Standard

Leading Industry Networks Announce Interconnection to Support Worldwide Secure Collaboration

ANX, a leading provider of networking and managed security services, and ENX, the communications network of the European automotive industry, today announced interconnection of their networks in order to create a global standard for secure business-to-business (B2B) data communication. More than 1,500 companies and organizations, ranging from small and medium businesses to large original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and government institutions, will benefit from intercontinental connectivity without incurring incremental cost. The current pilot phase is scheduled to be completed within 30 days.

“Our customers have told us that integration of the European and North American automotive communities is important and would benefit them,” said Rich Stanbaugh, president and CEO of ANX. “ANX and ENX have partnered to provide this global interconnection as a value-add to our existing customers at no additional cost. We believe that linking the ANX and ENX communities through our secure, private networks enables greater security, performance and unprecedented value for supply chain partners.”

ANX and ENX Managed Security Services support mission-critical business data exchange and real-time processes concerning finance, product development and supply chain logistics. Using state-of-the-art encryption technology and network management, both private networks deliver dependable performance, complete accountability and highly secure communications. Guaranteed service levels and strict user identification protect companies from common Internet security threats, vulnerabilities, performance problems and reliability issues.

“The automotive industry has always been a leader in process optimization, supplier integration and joint product development, even between competitors. Industry standards such as ENX facilitate such collaboration,” said Lennart Oly, Managing Director of ENX Association. “Recent challenges and trends lead to a new level of global collaboration among independent players of all sizes. Providing them with a single unified networking solution for all their applications — ranging from simple file transfer to advanced real-time collaboration — is the objective of our cooperation with ANX.”

Setting the benchmark for industry networks over the last 10 years, ANX and ENX have already been selected by other North American and European industries such as Defense, Aerospace and Medical Equipment manufacturing. Physical interconnection, global connectivity and a common technology standard make Secure Private Cloud solutions even more attractive for other industrial and government communities.
