Adcole Crankshaft Gage Features 180″ Measurement Capability

ADCOLE Corporation has introduced a large crankshaft measurement gage for manufacturers of diesel, marine, and locomotive engines and mining, oil field, and power generation equipment.

The Adcole Model 1200-10 Crankshaft Gage features a proprietary ball bearing spindle with < 0.25 um runout for measuring crankshafts up to 180" long, with a 22" swing dia., that weigh up to 4,500 lbs. Utilizing a laser interferometer in combination with a contact follower having a 13" stroke, this high-precision gage can measure 3,600 data points on pin journals for roundness and straightness with 0.5 um accuracy. Equipped with a 19″ touch-screen display and a Windows-based operating system for ease of use and output flexibility, the Adcole Model 1200-10 Crankshaft Gage can execute a full crankshaft measurement within 10 minutes. Built on a base of structural steel main cabinets with a large 18″ thick surface plate, this robust machine weighs 45,000 lbs. The Adcole Model 1200-10 Crankshaft Gage is priced from $900,000.00. Literature and price quotations are available upon request. About ADCOLE Corporation Adcole is the global center of expertise for designing and manufacturing the world’s highest accuracy machines for measuring camshafts, crankshafts and pistons, as well as digital sun angle sensors for space satellites. No other company can better measure critically important reciprocating engine components or the angle to the sun. Founded in 1957, Adcole has manufacturing facilities in both Massachusetts and Florida and offices across the world, maintaining close relationships with their customers. The company’s success, to a large extent, is based upon responding to their customers’ requests for further refinements based upon their real-world experience. Most of these refinements have dealt with the need for higher accuracy and the need to measure more parameters including radius, profile, taper, crown, timing angle, diameter, velocity, acceleration, runout, and roundness and concentricity. Another key reason for Adcole’s success is their exemplary commitment to R&D. Today, more than 500 automobile and supplier companies worldwide employ Adcole computerized inspection gages for quality control checks on camshafts and crankshafts. These companies include General Motors, Ford, ThyssenKrupp, VW, Chrysler, Toyota, Fiat, Nissan, Renault, Hyundai, Volvo, Suzuki, Caterpillar, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Cummins, FAW, Tata, MAN, John Deere, SAIC, FAW, and Dong Feng.
