Michigan-Based Saphran Solutions On Sharp Growth Curve

Saphran Solutions, a Michigan-based developer of management software systems, is on pace to more than double its sales in 2012.

Founded in 2004, Saphran has posted double-digit annual growth rates for the past two years, according to Kenneth Bassey, founder and CEO of the firm which develops management software for major automotive suppliers and companies in a variety of other fields.

Saphran’s innovative approach aligns multiple views of historical data, future sales, production outlooks, market analysis and internal metrics for quotes, orders and shipments.

“Our systems narrow the gap between business planning and actual performance,” Bassey noted. “We provide senior executives with comprehensive global business-management capabilities for forecasting, planning and quoting.”

He added that Saphran’s software programs can be implemented quickly; pay for themselves within three to six months; provide significant competitive advantages, and help protect and increase profit margins.

“Our products allow companies to develop forecasts based on overall market trends, seize market opportunities and avoid operational disruptions,” Bassey pointed out.

Saphran develops software products for customer-driven manufacturers in a variety of fields, including automotive, aerospace, defense, high-tech, electronics, construction, industrial and general manufacturing.

The company’s systems are designed for original equipment manufacturers with sales from $50 million up to $20 billion. Customers include Takata, Inteva, Gentex, Freudenberg-NOC, Lydall, ITW Global Automotive, DuPont and Charter Automotive.

The company’s key product offerings include PartBase active demand forecasting, ConnectBase real-time integration, CostBase margin management and IntelligenceBase DW/Cube Analytics, as well as various other “add-on tools” for specific customer needs.

An auto industry veteran, Bassey is fluent in Japanese and has extensive experience working in the Japanese-based supplier sector.

Prior to forming Saphran in 2004, he worked as manager of strategic planning, sales and marketing at Toyoda Gosei North America. Bassey also has worked at Germany-based ZF-Lemforder Corporation and Japan-based YSK Corporation. He is a University of Michigan graduate.
