NSK Adds 111 New Jobs on Strength of Advanced Electronic Power Steering System

NSK Steering Systems America (NSK) has added a total of 111 new jobs at its Dyersburg, Tennessee, Bennington, Vermont, and Ann Arbor, Michigan facilities. The move is to meet demand for its fuel-efficient electronic power steering system used in two of the most successful selling vehicles in the United States.

The hiring is specifically for two new product lines that begin production in 2013 – an existing product line that is shifting from manual steering to electric power steering technology, and a new product line for electric power steering technology.

“NSK’s steering technology provides our customers with distinct competitive advantage for their vehicles as their customers’ demand for increased fuel efficiency continues to grow,” says Martin Pilarski, Director of Sales and Marketing for NSK Steering Systems America. “Our ability to meet that demand has required us to increase our manufacturing capacity.”

NSK’s electronic power steering system offers advanced driver control through easy maneuverability, increased response rate at higher speeds and better fuel efficiency than hydraulic alternatives.
NSK’s Dyersburg facility has doubled in size since 2008. 91 of the 111 new jobs will be located there, making NSK one of the largest employers in the city of 17,000 residents. Candidates interested in an upcoming job opportunity in Dyersburg or at another location should send their resume with NSK Steering Systems Employment Opportunity in the subject line to: jobs@nsk-corp.com.

The company’s facilities in Dyersburg, Bennington and Ann Arbor contribute to NSK’s global leadership within the automotive component sector. They are responsible for creating steering components, manual and electric steering columns, and electric power steering systems.
