Thailand is the largest automotive producer among Southeast Asian countries and is currently the world’s 12th largest automotive production base. The Kingdom’s automotive industry has been continuously developing for over 50 years with strong support from both the public and private sectors, and major multinational automotive industry leaders are all presented in Thailand.
With the automotive production capacity of around 2 million vehicles a year, Thailand has now approximately 709 Tier 1 auto-parts suppliers and 1,700 Tier 2 and 3 suppliers. More than half of the Tier 1 suppliers are automotive component companies. Of the top 100 auto parts manufacturers in the world, 50% have factories in the country. Thailand’s production base is diverse enough to supply all necessary components, from tires to structural components.

Thailand Auto Parts & Accessories (TAPA) is a major event that shines a spotlight on Thailand as a significant sourcing hub of auto parts and accessories in ASEAN and is an international trade arena to present new products and innovations in the auto parts and accessories industry. Held under the concept of “Innovation Clean for the Future”, TAPA 2018 will also focus on the future development of automobile industry that gears towards high energy with low emission vehicles, especially electric vehicles driven by electric motor such as battery-powered cars and hybrid cars.
