WayRay, a Swiss pioneer of holographic AR displays for cars, launches the True SDK Challenge for developers. The participants across the globe are welcome to join the development competition to create the AR applications for cars.
Â
VR, AR, and mobile app enthusiasts can share their vision for AR apps for cars, pitching their ideas and designs online by March 31, 2018. The most visually and technologically innovative concepts will be shortlisted by the jury of renowned professors and industry experts by May 31, 2018.
Â
The top 30 finalists will receive cash prizes of $2,000–$5,000 and join the True AR Hackathon in the USA to create an AR app prototype with the True AR SDK by WayRay. The hackathon winners will be granted $10,000–$40,000 and the brand new Navion devices. Date and exact location of the hackathon will be announced later.
Â
The competition is the next step for WayRay towards creating a strong community of software engineers, content providers and hardware manufacturers creating AR solutions for cars. At CES 2017 WayRay debuted an AR infotainment system for self-driving cars, featured in the Oasis concept car built by Swiss manufacturer and iconic automotive designer Rinspeed. At CES 2018, Navion, the first holographic AR navigation system for cars, has been launched.
