World premiere of a new connection system designed for the transportation market

Delphi to reveal new generation of electrical connection system and E/E Architecture Innovation at electronica 2016, Munich,November 8-11
World premiere of a new connection system designed for the transportation market

Delphi Automotive PLC (NYSE: DLPH), a leading global technology company serving the automotive sector, is launching CTCS, a newly developed connection system at Electronica 2016. CTCS (Compact Transportation Connection System) has been designed specifically for the transportation market and its heavy-duty requirements, that include resistance against high operating temperatures, vibration, and extreme environmental conditions. CTCS can be applied virtually anywhere in the vehicle, including on-engine, engine compartment, chassis, and cab applications. With its robust and reliable design, CTCS helps meet evolving emission regulations and helps CV OEMs to offer environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Smarter, safer and more connected in-vehicle experience for iPhone and Apple users.

Delphi is also presenting its award-winning Dual Role Hub, a technology that helps automakers make Apple Carplayâ„¢ work simultaneously with other devices. The custom USB Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) allows the car radio and iPhone to be recognized as “host” devices simultaneously. Delphi’s solution, which received a prestigious 2016 PACE Award, is the only known integrated circuit globally that has both hub functionality and host to host bridging, and provides a smaller, more cost-efficient package.

Ethernet AMEC modular and scalable solution offers high speed data communications. Tomorrow’s technology – such as automated driving, multi-layer 3D cockpits and predictive intelligence – will require more speed. Data speeds will increase considerably. Today’s processing power of 175 megabits per second will surge to more than 2 gigabits per second in average for future vehicles. This has a massive impact on electrical architecture. The high speed transfer of data will be enabled by an efficient, lightweight and multiplexed Ethernet electrical system.

At Electronica, Delphi is also showing for the first time a new E/E Architecture Innovation Display which highlights the vital role of connection systems. The transparent car display highlights the world-class electrical architectures necessary to manage increasing vehicle content and complexity.
