Supplier-of-the-Year Recognition Demonstrates GE Motors’ Commitment to Customer Success

Flowserve Pump Division, one of the largest pump manufacturers in the world, has named GE Motors, a GE Consumer & Industrial business, its 2006 “Supplier of the Year” for the second year in a row, and the second time in the eight years of the award. GE also received the award in 2005.

Traditionally, a supplier has been chosen for servicing the company’s three major market segments: oil and gas, power or water. As in 2005, GE Motors was the recipient across the board, compiling votes from each market segment.

“Receiving this award is a great achievement because it comes from our most valued resource—our customer,” says Ray Lam, account manager, GE Motors. “Adding to the excitement is the fact that we were able to impact all of Flowserve’s market segments. We think this demonstrates our investment in the total success of our customers. It is a true accomplishment to have our name associated with such an outstanding company.”

Management from each major market segment of Flowserve casts its vote for supplier of the year based on categories such as commercial operations, product entry, project management and service.

“We’re proud to present GE Motors with this award,” says Tom Willever, Flowserve’s director of advanced procurement. “Our team receives so much more from GE Motors than just product; from the supply chain and technical support to the intangibles tied to outstanding service, GE Motors makes our success its priority.”
