WWA Group has held seven successful auctions since September of this year in Dubai (three auctions), Texas, Abu Dhabi, Lebanon and the Philippines. Two additional auctions are scheduled before the end of the year in El Paso, Texas, on November 24, and in Dubai, on December 8, 2009.
The September auction held in El Paso, Texas was the first physical heavy equipment auction held by WWA Group in the United States since inception in 2000.
WWA Group held a classic auto auction in Abu Dhabi on October 31, and a car only auction in Dubai on November 9. The classic car auction was the first event of this type ever managed by WWA Group.
Combined auction sales for the seven auctions held between September 7 and November 12, 2009 was over $35 million, with over 1,000 total registered bidders buying a total of 2,500 lots of transport and construction equipment. The items sold at these auctions were consigned by over 300 consignors, and bought by over 450 successful bidders from 51 countries.
“WWA Group is in the process of executing a plan to attract the increasing number of sellers of cars and equipment, and the increasing number of buyers for these items to our un-reserved auctions around the world,” commented WWA Group CEO Eric Montandon. “We are already measuring the success of our efforts with an increase in attendance and overall participation at recent auctions despite global economic conditions.”
