Taifeng Steel chooses Weldac welder from EFD Induction

Major Chinese steelmaker Taifeng Steel has purchased a Weldac induction welder from EFD Induction. The system will be used to weld 219 x 10 tubes for the domestic and overseas automotive industry. The Weldac, which is to be installed at Taifeng Steel’s new mill in Xintai in the eastern province of Shandong, is the first to be assembled and tested at EFD Induction’s own Chinese facilities.

Commenting on the sale, Climber Zhao of EFD Induction in China, said: “The purchase is of course a sign of Taifeng Steel’s trust and confidence in EFD Induction’s capabilities, but it is also an indication that the automotive sector is recovering from a difficult past two years.”

According to Zhao, Taifeng Steel were particularly impressed by EFD Induction’s manufacturing and support facilities in China. “Previously, all Weldac systems sold in China were assembled and tested by EFD Induction in Europe. So this sale to Taifeng Steel represents a real milestone in the development of EFD Induction in China.”

The Weldac 600 from EFD Induction is a single-cabinet converter that delivers a constant power factor of 0.95 at all power levels. Automatic load matching ensures full output power across a range of tube sizes. The system uses rugged, short circuit-resistant IGBT transistors for exceptionally high uptime and output. Each EFD Induction Weldac comes with a five-year warranty for its inverter modules, including driver cards.
