NEW KRM SERIES METAL TERMINAL CHIP MULTILAYER CERAMIC CAPACITORS FROM MURATA

KCM Version Meets Automotive AEC-Q200 Requirements

Murata Americas today introduced two new multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCCs) series that contain metal terminal. The KCM line is automotive grade, meeting AEC-Q200 requirements, while the KRM series is designed for commercial use. Both offer high capacitance values (4.7uF to 47uF) plus a unique terminal design providing high reliability for thermal and mechanical stress while reducing acoustic noise. This makes each ideal for use in DC-DC converter noise suppression circuits in automotive and commercial environments.

The KCM and KRM series is available either in a single chip or double chip package. High capacitance can be achieved with the double chip package by stacking two MLCCs together. This solution provides valuable space savings, measuring only 6.1mm x 5.3mm x 6.4mm. Both the KRM series and the automotive KCM offer a rated voltage range of DC25 ~ 100V.
“Murata’s leadership in capacitor technology is evident in the new metal terminal chip MLCCs,” stated Frank Yang, Application Engineer, Murata Americas. “The advanced design provides reliable, compact components that withstand harsh environments and reduce acoustic noise.”
The KCM 22uF/25V is available for $1.20 while the KRM 22uF/25V is priced at $1.15. The lead time is approximately 12 weeks. More information can be found at www.murataamericas.com.
