3,000 exhibitors sign up for Automechanika Shanghai

Diverse fringe programme expected to attract large crowds

The sixth edition of Automechanika Shanghai is taking place from 8 – 11 December 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and is attracting a record-breaking 3,000 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions. They will showcase their latest automotive products and services in 138,000 sqm of exhibition space in 11 established halls plus six temporary halls.

This year’s show includes nine overseas pavilions from France, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and the USA. In addition, more than 10 international visitor groups from America, Asia, Australia and the Middle East as well as more than 30 Chinese regional visitor groups have confirmed their visit to the show.

Diverse fringe programme expected to attract large crowds

To keep visitors and exhibitors updated with the latest industry information and to build up their marketing networks, Automechanika Shanghai is organising a series of fringe programmes, some of which are brand new events.

One of the most popular events is the Automechanika Academy which will be held from 8 – 9 December. It will cover a wide range of topics from policies, markets and operations in China and different countries, brand protection to green technology and remanufacturing. The event gives attendees a valuable opportunity to meet with experts from prestigious industry associations, research institutes, consultancies and leading companies who will share their experiences and insights into these topics:

In addition, Automechanika Shanghai is organising these brand new events focusing on different automotive fields to cater to various industry needs and new market trends.

The 2010 Automotive Aftermarket Summit – Innovating Business Model for the Industry will be held on 8 December. It provides a professional platform for aftermarket parts manufacturers, service suppliers and dealers to exchange state-of-the-art automotive aftermarket industry business ideas. Key industry leaders will share their experiences relating to innovative business models and company strategies. This event is co-organised by the Shanghai Oriental Auto Magazines Agency Co Ltd (Automobile & Parts) and the National Federation of Commercial Vehicle Parts Production and Marketing.

The New Energy Vehicle Auto Parts Development Seminar will take place on 9 December and is co-organised by the Shanghai Yixuan New Energy Tech Co Ltd and supported by Automobile Marketing & Management Institute Tongji University and Sino-German Electric Vehicles Institute. The theme topic is “Under the backdrop of the Government’s vigorous development of the new energy vehicles, how can the traditional auto parts manufacturers reform?”

The Insured Cars Repair After Accident and Its Parts Supply Chain Seminar will be held on the same day. It is co-organised with the Automotive Aftermarket Network (www.auto265.com) and managed by Zhongbaoyan Automotive Technology & Research Institute.

The seminar and Business Matching for Commercial Vehicle Parts Suppliers in China which is co-organised by China Commerical Vehicle Parts Markets Federation (CCVP) will also be held on 9 December.

The MotorChina and Allead Research Institute of Automobile Technology are organising the Forum for Automobile Repair Services Providers: How to Better Manage the Business and Provide Excellent Technical Service. At this event automobile repair and maintenance services, parts and accessories distributors and suppliers will gain more understanding on the latest equipment, business models, technology service management and how to improve service standards to meet with an increasing customer demand. The new forum is supported by the China Auto Technical Director Club and Shanghai SeeDoo Investment Management Co Ltd.

On 10 December, the Auto Parts Remanufacturing Industry Seminar will discuss global auto parts remanufacturing market development and the opportunities in China. It is organised by the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (USA).
