The IMI at the British Motor Show: Putting the spotlight on the professionals

Automotive professional body, the Institute of the Motor Industry, is taking
a leading role at the 2021 British Motor Show as it sponsors the IMI
Technology Theatre, as well as supporting the Automotive Careers Expo.  On
the IMI stand – R10 in the EV Zone (Hall 5) – visitors will have a chance to
learn more about the wealth of career opportunities the sector offers.
Motorists can also find out how the IMI Professional Register can help them
find a garage with technicians qualified to work on their vehicle.

As Steve Nash, CEO of the IMI explains, the world of motoring is changing
beyond recognition – from the acceleration to zero emissions to the advances
in automated driver assistance systems (ADAS) and connected motoring.  And
the changes present immense opportunities for those who want to work in the
sector as well as making it more important than ever for motorists to have
confidence in those who sell, service and repair their vehicles.

“226 job roles, a premium on earning potential for those with up to date
qualifications and some of the most exciting technological advances for 100
years – automotive offers a wealth of opportunities whether you’re already
in the sector; looking to make a career change or just starting out in the
jobs market. And crucially we’re a sector that is desperately short of
