GM Honors Top Suppliers for Performance and Contributions

With the North American International Auto Show as a backdrop, General Motors Corp. honored 15 companies for their performance and contributions to GM’s product excellence in 2006.

The supplier honorees include: Autoliv, Bridgewater Interiors, Cadence Innovation, Continental, Dicastal, Freescale Semiconductor, Johnson Controls, Hella, Hoegh Autoliners, Hota Gear, NGK Sparkplugs, Plastic Omnium, Ryder Logistics, Takata and Yazaki.

“Our suppliers play a critical role in helping GM develop the great cars and trucks you see on the road today and those being revealed at the NAIAS,” said Bo Andersson, vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, General Motors. “The suppliers recognized today exceed GM’s expectations for performance and serve as role model for the industry.”

This is the sixth year GM has issued supplier recognition awards in conjunction with the NAIAS. The awards recognize a supplier’s performance in quality, cost and delivery, as well as contributions to production and concept vehicles GM unveils at the NAIAS. Andersson was joined by Jim Queen, vice president, Global Engineering, in presenting the awards.

In addition, GM was joined by the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in honoring General Oil Company and Goodwill Industries for their efforts to support GM’s environmental supply chain initiatives.
