LeanNova, Swedish Engineering Service Provider Chooses Altair ProductDesign as Strategic Development

Altair's engineering expertise will be employed by newly founded Swedish engineering services provider for the development of full automotive vehicles and car subsystems

Altair, developer of the popular HyperWorks computer-aided engineering software, announced that LeanNova, a newly founded engineering services provider for the automotive industry, has chosen Altair ProductDesign and its competences in optimization, light weight design, simulation, and vehicle development as its strategic partner for several projects in the automotive industry.

LeanNova Engineering AB was founded by a management team formed of previous Saab Automotive AB employees. The company offers a strong automotive system capability, combined with a profound understanding of how to integrate technical, legal and customer requirements into an optimized end product. LeanNova Engineering is owned by Fouriertransform, a governmental run and financed venture capital, which will develop LeanNova to be a leading, well established and recognized engineering company within the automotive industry. LeanNova offers profound OEM experience with complete vehicle development and integration, a strongly mathematical and simulation based process, prototype build and test lab capabilities as well as extensive experiences within the global automotive market and its requirements.

“We are very happy to partner with Altair ProductDesign for our first major projects in the automotive industry,” said Martin Oman, Chief Operating Officer at LeanNova. “We wanted a partner that had a local presence by our automotive OEM clients and Altair ProductDesign fit that role perfectly. Their engineers will enforce our own engineering team and contribute to our projects with their experience in virtual automotive development, and their simulation driven design methodology. We know Altair and the ProductDesign team well from former projects for companies such as Saab, Opel, GM, and FIAT and will continue the good work with projects for former and new customers.”

“We are very pleased about the new partnership with LeanNova and are looking forward to projects throughout Europe,” said Royston Jones, President, Altair ProductDesign. “I am sure that we will contribute to the success of LeanNova with our experience in optimization and vehicle development. Due to CO2 emission regulations and increasing fuel prices, it becomes more and more important to build lighter, more efficient vehicles. One of our key experiences is in light weight design and we advocate the concept of a simulation driven approach to address today’s design challenges. “
